1) Call-out for activity proposals for DisOrientation 2011
Application is attached to this email
Deadline: July 18th, 2011
For years on the York University campus, YPIRG, its allied organizations
and community members have put together
an alternative orientation week that promotes critical thinking,
education and insight into a variety of
social and environmental justice issues. DisOrientation is an
alternative schedule of events to foster student activism in the
face of corporate and oppressive control of our campuses.
We are looking for organizations, departments, collectives, people,
groups that have great ideas for events or
activities of any kind to participate in this year’s DisOrientation,
scheduled to happen in September 2011.
DisOrientation is a radically different, politically progressive, series
of events that will offer all
students access and insight into the exciting political and social
justice spheres that exist at York
University and in our city. By bringing together a wide range of campus
and community groups and
services, we are trying to draw the links between the many different
kinds of political, environmental
and social justice based activism that exists on campus and in our
communities.
