ISRAEL/US

ANTI-ZIONIST ORTHODOX JEWS PROTEST THE STATE OF ISRAEL

New York City, NY April 29, 2005.

If you happened to be passing by the Israeli Consulate yesterday afternoon you most surely would have been shocked by the unusual sight that greeted your eyes: a group of over 10,000 Orthodox Jews who were protesting against the actual existence of the state of Israel. Behind them hung large posters showing the beating of Orthodox Jews by Israeli police while they were protesting the desecration of antiquated Jewish cemeteries which are in the path of a planned highway expansion.

The shocking sight didn't stop there. When you studied their signs and looked at the picture posters a shocking new world was revealed. Tens of thousands of religious Jews are protesting in the streets of Jerusalem against the state of Israel stating that the state of Israel, according to the Torah (that is the Jewish teachings) is illegitimate. They state that since the time that God sent the Jews into exile with the destruction of the temple two thousand years ago the Jews were forbidden to have their own state and that the whole concept of Zionism and the creation of the state of Israel was formed by irreligious Jews contrary to the Torah and the opinion of almost all of the Rabbinical leaders of Judaism worldwide.

The posters showed beaten and bloodied Rabbis sprawled on the ground cowering before Israeli police with stun guns and batons in their hands. Other posters showed old and young men alike being dragged on the ground and being piled into paddy wagons to be taken to Israeli prisons. Still other graphic pictures showed the excavated graves and bones spread over the ground; quite a shocking sight.

The signs that the protesters held read:

a.. Israel has no right to rule over any part of the Holy Land
b.. Jews Mourn 56 years existence of "Israel"
c.. Zionists do not represent Jews
d.. Let our Sages rest in Peace
e.. Israeli Government: Grave Digging is inhumane, disgraceful and shameful
f.. Zionism stole the name of Jews
g.. Oh No! Zionism will never succeed
h.. Rabbinical Leaders fought Zionism since its inception
i.. True Jews will never recognize Israel
j.. Israel does not represent world Jewry
  k.. Dissolve the Zionist State
l.. Authentic Rabbis always opposed Zionism and the State of Israel
Other demonstrations were held in Montreal, Canada and London, England.

Residents protest response to spill near Edmonton

By LORI FAZARI

Canadian Press

Friday, August 05, 2005

Wabamun, Alta. - More than 100 angry protesters blocked a Canadian National railway crossing Friday to express their anger at what they called the company's poor response to a freight train derailment and oil spill on the lake where they live.

Cabin owner Don Goss said CN appeared to be more worried about getting trains running again than they were in cleaning up what some have described as an environmental disaster. (Globe and Mail)

CN Rail lines blockaded

CN Rail and the Provincial governmnet are not doing nearly enough to clean up their lousy mess. The residents of Lake Wabamun are protesting their inaction by sitting on the train line so that no train goes through. Until CN Rail and the provincial governmnet do more and quick, this method should continue not just in Wabamun, but further down the line as well. Do not feel like you cant do anything because you are wayover wherever. Start a protest on your local CN Rail line brothers and sisters!

CN Rail is a Crown corporation. Alot of the management teams that run CN and that oppose CN workers' Transportation union are American business types. Money, Money, Money... jerks.

[editor's note, by ron] The protest has been ended with an apology from CN: http://www.ctv.ca

Protesters Occupy University of Hawaii Admin Building

05/02/2005

WEEKEND-LONG SIT-IN DEMANDS END TO MILITARY R&D CENTER

Since 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 28th, a coalition of Native Hawaiian groups, students, faculty, anti-war activists, environmentalists, and religious organizations have joined forces to occupy the University of Hawaii administration building, to demand the University cease all work on a secret Navy research project, UARC. This research is for the development of space-based laser systems, surveillance technologies, and sea-based mines. Since September 11, 2001, the US military has embarked on its largest expansion onto Hawa'ian land, since World War II. The Army plans to take 28,000 acres of this precious land to station a Stryker Brigade.
