[Omd] Roger will not be getting out in July

This didn't register with me when I listened to the news today (in fact
I think the CBC may have mis-reported that a bill which was pushed
through was the one which eliminated two-for-one for time served). But
Roger called me tonight and told me what a parole officer told him, that
the bill eliminating accelerated parole review received the royal
ass-end yesterday. In fact most of the 11 bills pushed through relate
to "crime". Fuckers. This means he won't be getting into a halfway
house in July.

It is really weird that the G&M makes the equation that non-drug-related
+ non-violent = white collar crime.

Two bits of good news. Roger may still be able to get early parole; it's
just a slower process which involves pleading a case in front of a
parole review board. The earliest that could happen is August. The
parole officer is pissed because their workload just shot up.

And Roger was shown around his new job today. It's a relatively plum
job, distributing newspapers and other subscriptions, doing some kind of
other courier work I didn't understand, and maintaining the facility's
pool cues (!?).
