hey folks,

so i'm wondering a few things:

a) has roger indicated what, if any, kind of support he'd like? if no one
has asked him recently, can someone who is in contact with him do so?

b) same for claude

c) i would like some omd folks to take on speaking about the case and
situation - right now i find that speaking about it, and saying the thinsg
i fele need to be said, really does my head in and negatively effects my
mental health. i feel that it is important to clarify the facts of the
case as there has been a great deal of distortion in the media, as well as
in diverse activist communities. i know people are busy, but i would like
us to be a bit more pro-active about this. otherwise, i am still trying
to deal with the whole experience of being arrested and going to jail. i
think i've reached a point where i am able to start dealing with it and
with various other things, which is good. i would expect that roger, when
he gets out, will also be dealing with trauma and maybe "post-traumatic
stress disorder" and perhaps we can think about how we can support him. i
expect people have been thinking about this, actually.

i am hoping to get some government id soon, so maybe i'll be able to go
visit roger - although given that he hasn't answered any letters or called
me, i'd like ot be sure that he's ok with that.

i have started to contact various people and groups to see about getting
them (them in this case being mostly commonists and commonist groups)
involved in supporting roger. jon hunt suggested trying to do something
at an international level, which i thought was a very interesting
suggestion, both practically and in terms of the benefits of having
roger's case known internationally. the obvious place to start is the
states, maybe with the abc's there - a few people from new york wrote me
while i was at innes. in any case, i asked them to start supporting
roger, but i didn't give them any concrete ways to do so - aside from
writing him, which i suggested. it would be good to have a clearer idea of
what exactly supporting J18 defendants looks like at the moment.

those are my thoughts.

love and solidarity,
matt
