Although a traveler passing through the cities of Colombia might see a country moderately developed, an urbanized population and a burgeoning middle class, while liberal economic journals describe Colombia’s economy as a prosperous, growing market, rich in natural resources and ready for investment, the situation in Colombia should only be understood as war.
