Apparently, playing the gruff, conservative and cynical District Attorney _Arthur Branch_ on the popular television series **Law & Order** isn't much of a stretch for Actor/Lawyer/Republican Politician **Fred Thompson**. Like another former Republican Presidential candidate and Actor, Thompson has 'spectacularly bad politics' and is not known for being much of a deep thinker: "[Fred Thompson] loves tax cuts for the wealthy and free trade, thinks that global warming is a hoax, wants to overturn Roe [Versus Wade], is big on the Iraq war, beats up on immigrants, and makes the [National Rifle Association] happy at every turn."
