Interesting analysis of the Chavez strategy which Munckton calls genuinely revolutionary and that, he says, follows guidelines for a socialist "transitional program" laid down by Trotsky. Socialism, says Munckton, is not something that one leader, such as Chavez, can create, or present to, or impose on the people. It must be created and built by the people, and by expanding awareness and increasing the political participation by the majority of poor Venezuelans, Chavez is making this possible, whereas the wild revolutionary policies demanded by many armchair revolutionaries in the vanguard left might simply result in socialism's complete defeat.
