**Two articles**, from **Socialist Worker** and **Counterpunch** respectively, discuss the **class** and **race** based nature of the US "justice" (sic) system. They also give a glimpse of the type of policies favored by the right wing government of Canadian Prime Minister **Stephen Harper**, which has made no secret of it's preference for a US-style "war on crime"; despite the collosal damage such failed social policies have had south of the border, they nonetheless find much favour among Canada's neo-conservatives.
