With the eviction of Ungdomshuset the authorities in Copenhagen make way for homophobic crusade.

The city council of Copenhagen has, supported by the Danish state, paved the road for the right-wing Christian fundamentalist church, Faderhuset, to take over and demolish the cultural and political centre Ungdomshuset in Nørrebro, Copenhagen.

As lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people on Nørrebro we are now worried and angry about the promotion of a right-wing, traditionalist cultural politics in the City of Copenhagen – and in Denmark as a whole in these years. Ungdomshuset was a place that attempted to function on non-commercial, anti-racist, anti-sexist, and anti-heterosexist premises for many years.
