THE 'NEW' PARAMILITARY COLOMBIAN GROUP
Black Eagles: rearmament of a model that was not disarmed

Jailed paramilitary commander Salvatore Mancusso warns that there might be
more than five thousand paramilitaries who have rearmed; another one of
the jailed commanders, Carlos Mario Jiménez "Macaco" says he has no
control over at least 300 mid-level commands that did not demobilize. In
addition, Frank Pearl, The Presidential High Counselor for Reintegration,
confesses that the government has lost track of 4,731 men who supposedly
handed over weapons.

Harper cloning Bush trip to Latin America

Perhaps the most interesting destination will be Bogota, where Harper is
expected to meet with embattled president Alvaro Uribe. Colombia has been
wracked in a colossal political scandal in recent months, with several
pro-government politicians -including the vice-president- forced to resign
over revelations they co-operated with violent paramilitary groups. The
social-justice organization Interpares said it'll be watching closely to
see if Harper raises human rights issues with Uribe.

LOCAL MEDIA HAVE IGNORED THE PROTESTS
Public University could disappear in Colombia
VIDEOS AVAILABLE

The graduates will have to pay high credits for 15 years, the
registrations would increase 300 %, zero resource for investigation,
'cheap' teachers would be hired and the universities would have to rent
their own premises. Nevertheless they might not pay the debt that would
generate them to assume the debit pensional.
