The anti-Olympic movement has been grabbing headlines all over the world recently, from the growing indigenous resistance against the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver over stolen land, to the controversy over the 2016 Summer Games in Bejing over local displacement and China’s involvement in the human rights abuses in Darfur and Tibet. But...in the U.S. another, less publicized, battle is being waged over an Olympic location near Chicago, and for the residents of Lake County, the fight has hit close to home.
