The Jewish National Fund (JNF) recently announced that they plan on rebuilding a section of the Birya forest, located in the Galilee, and will name it after the late Coretta Scott King, the renowned civil rights and anti-apartheid activist and wife of Martin Luther King Jr. The Coretta Scott King Forest is set to be built as part of ‘Operation Northern Renewal’, a $400 million campaign launched by the JNF to rebuild its forests in the North that were destroyed during Israel’s brutal assault on Lebanon last summer. Reportedly, approximately 2 million trees were either completely burned or damaged beyond repair by Hezbollah’s Katuysha rocket fire on Northern Occupied Palestine.
