Our main concern in writing to you...is to present some important points and questions that we are hoping you will consider regarding the invitation extended by the Council [of Canadians] to Gustavo Iruegas of Mexico’s **Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD)**...Many examples...make evident the political line of the PRD, which though it claims to be a progressive political party inclined towards Mexico’s poor, has served to entrench neo-liberalism, state violence, militarization and poverty across the country.
