A concert by Michigan and South Dakota musicians at a Custer church raised $1,000 for the oldest Native American domestic violence shelter. The money will be used by the White Buffalo Calf Woman Society to prevent teen suicide, domestic violence and sexual assault involving women and children of the Lakota Rosebud Reservation. The reservation recently declared a state of emergency because over 600 teens have attempted suicide in the past two years resulting in 15 deaths - mostly teenage males.
