WASHINGTON - US oil and defense industry executives are raking in record personal profits, cashing in on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan following the September 11, 2001, terror attacks and record oil price increases.

[A UFE report] found that the top 34 CEOs combined have earned almost $1 billion since the September 11 attacks. This would have been enough money to employ and support more than 1 million Iraqis for a year to rebuild their country.
