The Afghan war...demonstrates that the present role of NATO is to support the general policy goals of the US government...The U.S. government has another objective being played out in Afghanistan. The Bush Administration is setting a precedent where it can use NATO to support its “war on terrorism” and bypass the UN Security Council.
