Nations’ ruling to “cease and desist” from violating the rights of the Western Shoshone.

Like monsters, the heavy machinery grinds down the dirt roads and the gold mining companies spread, like the yellow  
scarves that were once placed around the necks of Western Shoshone women, yellow scarves that carried small pox.
