A 92-year-old woman was shot dead Tuesday night in Georgia, U.S., after she opened fire and wounded three police officers who entered her house in a search for drugs.

The woman, Kathryn Johnston, was the only resident in the house at the time and had lived there for about 17 years, news reports quoted Assistant Police Chief Alan Dreher as saying Thursday.
