Toronto transit employees are being urged by their union to back away from arguments with customers about fares amid a rise in the number and severity of assaults on workers..."We will no longer put our safety and our incomes at risk for $2.75," Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) president Bob Kinnear said Wednesday. "We're sick and tired of (Transit Management) and the (Transit) Commissioners putting the responsibility on us and pitting the public against us."
