The flower vendors of the Belisario Dominguez Market in Texcoco, Mexico, who are part of the People´s Front in Defense of the Land (Atenco), are being brutally repressed by the Mexican state´s repressive forces today May 3, 2006. The flower sellers have been defending their right to sell flowers for weeks, because the local authorities had wanted to evict them from their flower stands in the market. The Texcoco market has been partially taken over by the PFP (Federal Preventive Police), and there has been constant harassment and violence against the flower vendors.
