A copy of The Adventures of Robin Hood lay open and face down in a sea of dirty blankets, discarded clothes and food remnants.

The novel looked out of place in an environment where survival is the first priority, but the philosophy of the central character – to redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor – seemed strangely apt.

For the past six weeks, some of Abbotsford’s more affluent residents have been stopping at the roadside and donating goods to the street people of Compassion Park.
