Steven Briault known to his street friends as Kaptus died violently on June 14, in the underpass at the corner of Colonel By and Rideau killed by a man who was not from the streets.

After comments by city councilors and Rideau St. business representatives that they plan to shut down this under pass due to Kaptus' death these street youth decided to form a protest action, which began on July 1.
