Grand Chief Dennis White Bird of the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs has rejected Winnipeg police Chief Jack Ewatski's offer to allow a representative to observe the investigation into the fatal police shooting of an aboriginal teen. "I don't want to get myself involved in a process that is flawed. That's what we've been saying from the beginning. The police cannot investigate themselves. I use the same scenario here, that if I am convicted or if I am accused of wrongdoing, do I investigate myself?"
