[news] Case against Mexico City mayor awaits appeal

Mexico City's leftist mayor, Manuel Obrador is currently facing charges regarding land expropriation after official immunity was lifted by the right-wing federal government who see him as most likely to win the next federal election. If Obrador is convicted, he will not be allowed to stand as a candidate and has already been stripped, at least temporarily of his mayorship. Bush has got to be worried about this guy and what it means for an increasing wave of socialist solidarity in the global south.
