Christian says he thought the two sides were making progress until the Deh Cho issued what he calls an "ultimatum": that they wouldn't drop the lawsuits unless they could have a veto over the Mackenzie Gas project. Christian says it's not in Canada's interest to give the Deh Cho this veto, and if the Deh Cho won't reconsider its position, he threatens Canada will walk away from the Deh Cho process.
