[news] UBC bookstore to adopt anti-sweatshop policy

May 24, 2004 After a several-month-long consultation with the UBC Oxfam club 
and other community human rights organizations, the Bookstore has drafted and 
adopted a strong new Code for all its apparel suppliers. The new Code will 
require suppliers to pledge to observe standards set by the International 
Labour Organization and the United Nations in making goods for university sale.
