James C Helicke, CP Monday, June 28, 2004 ISTANBUL (AP) - Hundreds of 
protesters hurled firebombs and stones at police Monday as they tried to reach 
the conference centre where NATO leaders were meeting in Istanbul. Police used 
tear gas and water cannons to stop the crowd, and dozens of people were 
injured.
