Hi everyone,

I know that Gunargie recently asked Stéphanie and myself to wait on working on this project until the details are dealt with from her end, and we're sitting on it for now, but eager to get started when the time is right. However before this message I had previously asked if RE-CON (a Lifers Group at a CFF, a federal prison in Laval, QC) could possibly make a donation. I had suggested $25, since I know the group has a shoestring budget.

Well at their meeting on Tuesday, they had decided to donate $125 - which is incredible.

So now we have a total of $175 towards donations for the translation into Inuktitut.

I did write RE-CON members a short message (see below) to thank them, but I think that after the translations are finished that a card would be appropriate with of course the test in all three languages to post up in the room for the Native Brotherhood.

I do realize that I wrote "on behalf" of you all without prior consulation (which I wouldn't normally do) but I thought that we should get a quick thank you to these guys right away. I hope you all understand.

message emailed to outside members and to be later shared with inside members of RE-CON

Dear RE-CON folks,

On behalf of the Native Prisoner Testimonies Ad-Hock group (a group of concerned individuals working with Community Media, the NCRA and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission) whose mission is to work on gathering testimonies of
Indigenous prisoners who have been, or whose family members have been,
through the residential school system, I would like to thank all RE-CON members for your generous donation of $125 towards translation costs in Inuktitut.
