Hello and Welcome to Resist.ca!
You are receiving this message in response to your account application
filed with us. Please read this document in full, it includes some
introductory how-to's and the member agreement that you have signed on to.
We're sure a lot of your initial questions will be answered herein.
Here are the information about your new email list:
The email list `nativeprisonerstestimonies' has just been created for you.
The
following is some basic information about your email list.
Your email list password is:
Nij9glut
You need this password to configure your email list. You also need
it to handle administrative requests, such as approving mail if you
choose to run a moderated list.
You can configure your email list at the following web page:
https://lists.resist.ca/cgi-bin/mailman/admin/nativeprisonerstestimonies
The web page for users of your email list is:
https://lists.resist.ca/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nativeprisonerstestimonies
You can email all the list subscribers at
nativeprisonerstestimonies at lists.resist.ca.
You can customize these web pages from the list configuration
page. However, you do need to know HTML to be able to do this.
There is also an email-based interface for users (not administrators)
of your list; you can get info about using it by sending a message
with just the word `help' as subject or in the body, to:
help at resist.ca
To unsubscribe a user: from the email list 'listinfo' web page,
click on or enter the user's email address as if you were that user.
Where that user would put in their password to unsubscribe, put in
your admin password. You can also use your password to change
member's options, including digestification, delivery disabling, etc.
Please address all questions to help at resist.ca.
If you offered to give us money as part of your mutual aid agreement
with the Resist! Collective, we ask that you do that within the next
three months. Donations can currently be made in one of three ways.
1) by mailing a cheque or money order made out to the Resist!
Collective to PO Box 21680 Commercial Dr., Vancouver BC, V5L 5G3
2) via PayPal. To do this, go to
http://help.resist.ca/donate and click on the PayPal
icon.
3) by depositing money directly into our credit union account at CCEC
(2250 Commercial Dr. account #7819-6). This option is only available
for Vancouver residents at this time.
A NOTE ON PASSWORD SECURITY
We ask that you choose and use a secure password for your resist.ca
account. Ideally a password should be a random string of at least 8
letters, numbers and symbols that only you know. Please do not use
a password that you use for other insecure logins. When you are requesting
help with your account, do not send us your password over email - we do not
need your password in order to help you. Further, we ask that you don't
write
your password down, stick it to your computer, or otherwise post it
anywhere. Remember, the security of the system depends on each user.
