Directed by Academy Award winning Haskell Wexler, the Bus Rider's Union 
follows three years in the development of Los Angeles' Bus Riders Union as 
they build a powerful multiracial working class movement to fight transit 
racism, clean up LA's lethal auto pollution and win billion-dollar 
victories for the transit dependent communities of LA. Faced with 
ultra-expensive rail development, rising fares and cuts to late night buses 
(sound familiar?), the LA BRU has organized a powerful movement of bus 
riders in the heart of the most fossil fuel-addicted city in the USA. 
Includes a segment on the highly successful No Seat/ No Fare campaign.

This film showing is part of a movement building around the January 14 fare 
strike being held right here in Vancouver.
