        SUSTAINABLE SOCIETIES

        Prof. Ei-ichiro Ochiai talks about what we can learn from Japan
        in the Edo period (1600-1868) which maintained a high level of
        population and vibrant cultures with absolutely no import of
        material and energy.  

    Followed by refreshments and discussion.
