POLITICAL PREVENTION PROGRAM PART 1
All proceeds were divided three ways, one part went to the musicians
and performers, another to the Waldorf Seven legal defence fund and the
third was to Joey Only's legal defence fund for the Westmount Trial in
Montreal. In total well over $500 was raised at the door and from the
various raffles and draws. The show featured the opening solo acts of
Nayden with a guitar and Altona McAwesome on a banjo. Ross Waldron
from Australia played a 25 minute instrumental set using crazy chicken
noises. Then we got into some hip hop first with MCEhawk who really
got the crowd stoked for the Dead By Dawn Sound System who rocked the
PIC!! Then Corwin Fox from Victoria surprised everyone with his upbeat
voice and intelligent persona before Joey Only came out decked out in
cowboy threads to stomp out a 35minit set full of high energy. Andy
Mason and the Tricksters took over and left the stage open for Rae
Spoon who closed the night in good style.
Industrial Worker of the World t-shirts and memorabilia were raffled off
along with CD's of the performers and a Ken Foster original peice of
art. Over 130 people came through the PIC that night, they said they
were very happy with us; that is how we managed to set up another show
there...I hope you all make it.
