If more U.S. soldiers refused to fight the illegal war in Iraq, should they
be welcomed in Canada, or sent to jail?...

WAR RESISTERS FORUM
Thursday, December 2, 2004
12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
room 2201, Douglas College (New Westminster Campus)

Local members of the War Resisters Support Campaign (www.resisters.ca),
including Dr. Jeff Schutts - a former US Army officer, current conscientious
objector, peace activist and history instructor at Douglas College - will
introduce US soldiers who hve come to Canada seeking refuge from fighting in
Iraq, and present background information on the related issues of the
possibility of Canadian asylum for those who have refused to fight, the
situation for soldiers in Iraq, how American soldiers are recruited, the
potential for a new draft in the US, and what Canadians can do to make the
federal government demonstrate its commitment to international law by making
provision for sanctuary in Canada to US war objectors.
