FYI  - for any who are "involved in the mental health care system" - ie: labelled with a mental illness and all the terrible life crushing realities that that entails.
In my opinion, every artist is part of the greater "mental health care system" . What these people are talking about, of course, is people who are entangled in the medicalization of their artistic impulses (called crazy, schizophrenic, manic...etc.). However, as we blow apart the oppression on one level (the push for world peace) these old systems of social control will be seen for what they are - a massive abuse of human rights. In the mean time, let's hope that the artists get something close to the value of their work. Then maybe they wouldn't need to be on government assistance at all - what a concept!
