This is a link to the Point Seven Pledge.   http://www.pointsevenpledge.ca/content/en/petition.html Attached is some info about them, but the scoop in short is: 
In 1970 Canada and many other Western nations, following the recommendation of the Pearson commission, agreed that the growing world poverty was unacceptable and that ignoring it would lead to future problems on a larger scale.

They agreed that foreign aid was an important tool to help the third world as they work their way out of poverty.

We committed, and reaffirmed, a target of 0.7% of GDP as foreign aid.

Canada has never reached that goal, no G8 country has.





C'mon, signing this pledge is easy. If we can shame single car drivers, then I can shame you if you don't sign this. If you don't know me, then you know my sense of humour is kind of weird.
