Day of Action: February 4, 2004

Day of Action Events Throughout BC
to Draw Attention to Access Crisis
Students on campuses across British Columbia are
geared up to hold events and rallies on February 4.

Day of Action events will include:

CRANBROOK
Students at College of the Rockies will gather in the
main foyer at noon to oppose tuition fee hikes.

KELOWNA
Okanagan Students' Union members will be
demonstrating against tuition fee increases at the
North Kelowna Campus from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The event will include speakers, live music, political
games and a free barbeque.

NANAIMO
Students from Malaspina Univesity College and
North Island College (Locals 61 and 72) will hold
a rally in Nanaimo in front of the Malaspina
Students' Union Building beginning at 12:00 pm.

PENTICTON
Okanagan University College students in Penticton
(Local 3) will hold a gathering in the cafeteria at
10:30 am followed by a march to MLA Bill Barisoff's
offi ce.

PRINCE GEORGE
Following campus events, students from the
University of Northern British Columbia and College
of New Caledonia (Local 13) will hold a rally at
1:30 pm at Advanced Education Minister Shirley
Bond's offi ce.

PRINCE RUPERT
Northwest Community College students (Local 66) will
rally against tuition fee hikes.

TERRACE
Northwest Community College students (Local 66) will
hold a rally on campus beginning at 11:30 am before
busing downtown to demonstrate at MLA Roger Harris'
offi ce.

Day of Action: February 4, 2004

VICTORIA
Students from Camosun College and the University
of Victoria (Locals 44, 75, and 89) will hold a rally at
Centennial Square (City Hall) and march to the BC
Legislature. The events will begin at 1pm.

VANCOUVER
Post-secondary and highschool students from
the Greater Vancouver area (including Langley,
Surrey, Richmond and North Vancouver) will hold
a demonstration at the Vancouver Art Gallery
beginning at 1pm. The demonstration will include
a march to the Vancouver offi ces of the BC Liberal
Government.
