Dear Friends:

Earlier this week the Labour and Employment Board of New Brunswick ruled
that the Departments of Health and Wellness and of Family and Community
Services discriminated against a same sex couple who tried to register the
birth of their child and trine to hav! e the non-biological parent adopt the
child. The ruling has paved the way for same sex couples to be able to
legally adopt children in New Brunswick.

Following the ruling, Premier Bernard Lord issued a statement to the media
that the New Brunswick Government will not be issuing a challenge to the
ruling.

I believe these two events may be a turning point in the relationship
between the GLBT community and the New Brunswick Government. I also hunch
that there will be pressure put on the New Brunswick Government by those who
oppose us. For this reason, I've sent out emails in support of the ruling to
key people in the New Brunswick Government. I'm sending out this action
alert to encourage others to do the same. My hope is that by doing this we
can provide these legislators with a balanced debate on the issue.

The key people to send letters of support to are:

Tony Huntjens, Minister of Family and Community services,

Brad Green, Justice Minister, brad.green at gn b.ca

Premier Bernard Lord, Premier at gnb.ca

Please take a few minutes to help in this worth wile initiative by sending
emails of support to these government representatives and by passing this
action alert on to others. Our community and our children need your help!
