Subscribers, I have just perused this newly launched website put up
by corporate observatory: www.investmentwatch.org For a teriffic
overview of the struggles against corporate globalization i would refer
it to you whatever your level of understanding of the issues around the
WTO, GATS, NAFTA, FTAA & MAI-like corporate-driven trade deals. Take
a moment and have a look and do share it around with all your networks.
Regards, Tom

Dear friends,

Following a preview period, the new website

www.investmentwatch.org

is now on-line! This website is designed to be a central resource for
NGOs, trade unions, civil society groups (and so on) working against
the launch of investment negotiations in the WTO. The website serves
multiple functions:

[1] News: The website will be kept right up-to-date with all the
latest news from the world of WTO-Investment. News articles,
notifications of new position statements, events, and so on.

[2] Critical voices: The website will serve as a central hub with
links to critical groups, their publications, sign-on statements, and
so on.

[3] Resources: The website will carry quite an array of materials
potentially of use to activists. This includes a technical glossary
(hopefully updated over time), information on the latest known
positions of WTO members, information on the latest known positions
of corporate lobby groups and information on forthcoming events (such
as WTO meetings, mobilisations, demonstrations and so on.)

[4] The website will also have a restricted zone (for sensitive
information sharing) and, when finished, a "starter package" which
activists new to the issue can peruse to gain a grounding in the WTO-
Investment issue. (The intention is to make the website as accessible
as possible to the general public, although this is work-in-
progress.)

[5] ...and more!

The website is always evolving, and the webmaster (see the 'Contact'
section of the website) is very happy to be sent any relevant
information for inclusion on the website. In fact, the more you can
tell us, the better the website will be. At present the website needs
more links to (critical) groups and their publications, so if your
group and/or your publication is not represented just send the
webmaster an email. And keep the news coming in...

Feel free to forward this email far and wide,

Thanks,

The Webmaster InvestmentWatch.org
