PETITION TO LA SENZA

 

Help end harassment of workers 

making La Senza products 

in Thailand

 

I am disturbed at reports that workers making La Senza lingerie at the Gina Form Bra factory in Bangkok, Thailand are being harassed, intimidated and fired for belonging to a union. Your Thai supplier has reportedly conducted heavy surveillance of workers, fired 37 union members and laid-off five members of the union executive committee. According to Thailand's National Human Rights Commission, these actions violate Thai labour laws and United Nations' covenants on human rights. 

 

As a Canadian company that claims its lingerie is made under humane conditions, you have a responsibility to ensure that workers making your products are treated with respect. I urge you to not cut and run from your responsibilities, but to pressure your supplier to:

 

  1.. Reinstate the 37 unjustly fired workers and 5 laid-off union members immediately. 
  2.. End intimidation, harassment and discrimination against all workers immediately.
