A quick thinking cyclist (Jamie) chased the car that ploughed through the
peace marchers last night and actually caught up with it two blocks away
after it turned down an alley, got the license plate number, and even jumped
off his bike and swung it at the car - denting the rear drivers side panel.
Hurray for bicycle people!

(last three numbers not certain, look for any small car with plate starting
with JIJ and dent in side.)
Fortunately the front hood slopes sharply down toward the front and was very
low - acting like a cow-catcher on a train, which may explain the miracle
that only one woman's leg was broken while the other dozen or so people
struck suffered minor injuries.

If anyone has a clear idea of the make/model/color please post. My mind was
occupied with trying to get off the hood without getting run down (again) as
he accelerated down the street.

Motorcycle officer 139 asked no questions about the car when i attempted to
report it to him, instead asking if i was standing in the road when struck
(answer: in the road with the crowd). He shrugged and walked away without
further interest.

On another note: there is a tow truck driver who continually cruises the
vigil site looking to snatch cars. He seems to have a vendetta going. I
think this should be declared a free parking zone, and the crowd should
protect any car from being towed. Drivers are delivering supplies and
supporters and should be protected from this tow truck.
