More disturbing news re:  Olympic Scandal in Progress - Report for
immediate release

>From a reliable source we were informed that this week there 

will be large group of delegates from the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid 

Committee, including politicians and sport stars, visiting Prague for
their final 

Presentation to the I.O.C.  The budget for this huge Vancouver / Whistler 

Delegation is estimated to be approximately $ 600,000.  Together with the 

already spent 1.5 million dollars for the Olympic propaganda, the total 

cost of this exercise will most likely go beyond the two million dollar 

mark.  Who is paying for this "money-destruction machine" for this 

Olympic project ?  The taxpayer?  Yes.

Another item of bad news was in the VANCOUVER SUN:  The RAV (Rapid 

Transit Line)  is in jeopardy as Ottawa cuts financial contribution.  

Should the Federal Government break their promises with regards to their 

financial support of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Province of BC will be 

on the hook for these funds.  In his powerful "finale" the PM, Jean 

Chrétien, is distributing financial support in a "watering can system". 
He 

also wants desperately a "legacy" of being the godfather of many good 

things, e.g. the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada.  However  -  as history 

shows - the new PM and his new cabinet can easily cancel and overwrite 

commitments of the former Chrétien regime.

A typical example we experienced on the Provincial level:  Shortly before 

Premier Glen Clark had to resign from office, he, his ministers and
members 

of his party promised the innumerable victims of the "Leaky Rotten Condo 

Disaster" financial support and compensation with the help of the Federal 

Government.  When the new Premier, Gordon Campbell, came into power, he 

also recognized the big mischief and pain of the many victims, but never 

made an effort to fulfill the promise of his predecessor.  Gordon Campbell

wants his own "legacy" - the 2010 Olympics; anything else is history and a

secondary matter.  It seems that the Feds only support disasters in the 

East of Canada:  Millions of dollars compensation for the ice storm, for 

the fishing industry and the SARS crisis, etc., but not a cent for the 

victims of the "Leaky Rotten Condo Disaster", for the many Canadians who 

lost their homes.

And then:  On top of anything else, we have the federal privacy 

commissioner, Mr. George Radwanski, who defrauded the Government (the 

taxpayers)  by have million dollars with his generous spending, 

entertainment bills for parties with his "friends".  Don't you think that 

we have too many questionable peoples in our political system ?   Well, if
you think 

so, please read the book "GOODBY CANADA" by Paul Hellyer.  Despite this
book is already several years old, the facts are still the same. It seems
to us that the situation in our Canadian political system is
deteriorating.  That's the reason why we are fighting the potential 

up-coming financial disaster, called the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver / 
Whistler !

This explosive report explains in detail how the Bid City Vancouver /
Whistler fights tooth and nail in a very unfair manner and undemocratic
way in order to obtain by deception the approval of the I.O.C. nomination
committee for the Winter Olympics of 2010.

The 2010 Vancouver / Whistler Olympic Bid in Canada is an unfair power
struggle and ego-trip of questionable politicians.  It is a freak show of
greedy "for money" developers and CEOs of big corporations, so-called
"generous sponsors".  The mighty organizers use tricky means,  to obtain
the I.O.C.'s assent.  Together with the B.C. Government they rule and
dictate over the head of the citizens.

Conflicts of interest become more and more visible.  A hoped for
province-wide Referendum was downsized to a small "non-binding Plebiscite"
held only in the small downtown area of Vancouver.  Only approx. 12 % of
B.C.'s voting population could participate.  Given a chance to vote,  the
entire B.C.-population would have certainly resulted in an overwhelming
“NO”   against the Games !  The entire Olympic Bid is a huge fraud and
betrayal of the citizen of B.C.;  it’s against democracy in Canada as well
as against Olympic principles of integrity, loyalty, honesty and the
highly ethical I.O.C. - Oath of "Fair-Play".

Scientific analysis

The economic analysis by Prof. Christopher A. Shaw and his team of the
steadily growing NO GAMES 2010 COALITION shows clearly that these games
would bring the already over-indebtedness Canadian Province of British
Columbia even closer to a total bankruptcy !  Please ask Prof. Shaw for

The voice of a member of the opposition party

A member of the opposition party of B.C.'s Parliament in Victoria, B.C.,
explained to us:

"This entire "Olympia 2010 Tragedy" is simply a power struggle of the two
very questionable politicians, the Premier of the Province of B.C., Gordon
Campbell, recently convicted in the USA for drunk and reckless driving and
his namesake, the mayor of the City of Vancouver, Larry Campbell, a former
police officer.  The latter declared to the citizen during his election
campaign that hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver / Whistler
would be foremost a matter of all B.C. voters.  His expressed wish was to
have a province-wide referendum !

Days after his landslide victory as the new mayor of Vancouver, Larry
Campbell changed his mind.  Insiders assume that mayor Campbell responded
to pressure by the B.C and Federal Government and the Olympic Bid
Committee.  He was forced to find a way to block the promised
province-wide Referendum.  The Referendum was suddenly "castrated" to a
small non-binding "Plebiscite".  Only the voters of the small downtown
area of Vancouver were eligible to vote "Yes" or "No" for the 2010
Olympics.  The questionable politicians and their accomplices within the
Olympic Bid Committee used taxpayer’s dollars to conduct saturation
advertising to buy a "Victory" of 64 % "YES" , a result, good enough just
to please the I.O.C. Evaluation Committee.  It might have been a technical
victory, but it did not represent the will of all British Columbians.  Had
a province-wide referendum been executed [as promised by Larry Campbell],
the result would have been a clear defeat for the Bid Corporation  —  most
likely showing the following results:  5 to10 % in favor and  90 to  95 %
against  the Winter Olympics 2010 !

“Legacy” — the magic word powerfully (mis)used in the Olympic Propaganda  

As we read and hear the _expression  "Legacy"  in the propaganda
statements of the Olympic Bid Committee, we realize that this "legacy" [of
the Games]  is not meant to promote popular sport, nor does it promote the
Province of B.C. as a tourist destination.  The entire 2010 Olympic
Promotion is simply a scheme to create "legacies" for politicians and some
publicity-eager members of the Olympic Bid Committee, managers and CEO's
of the so-called "generous" sponsors.  The 2010 Olympics is an ideal
opportunity for special interests...

What's the real reason behind this tremendous and costly effort to promote
the games by the B.C. Government in collaboration with the Olympic Bid
Committee ?  We believe that the politicians want three things:  1. their
“legacy”,  2.  the financial windfalls for private interests and, 3.  to
continue to promote their social and political privatization agenda. 

Instead of wasting this billions on the Olympic Games, what kind of urgent
domestic problems should be fixed instantaneously ?   There are many – for
example:

1.  To improve the ailing medic-care and the school system.

2.  To help the numerous homeless and poor people in downtown Vancouver.

3.  To find solutions to prostitution and drug problems in the East End of
the City.

4.  To compensate the over 100,000 victims of scandalous "Leaky Rotten
Condo Disaster", the latter created by unscrupulous builders and
inattentive Government.

5.  To fulfill the obligations promised by the B.C. Government to finally
compensate the First Nations People of B.C.

Who is to blame for this dark and sad situation ?  A famous quote says: 
"You only get the Government which you deserve".  The attitude of  "I
don't care" of many citizens allows the Government to get away with these
schemes.  It seems to me that the Campbell regime treats its citizens like
ignorant idiots !  This high-handed way of governing this province has to
end.  I sincerely hope that the NO GAMES 2010 COALITION will have the
chance, to re-introduce a province-wide referendum with regards to the
2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver / Whistler.

I also hope that after knowing the results of these votes, the NO GAMES
2010 COALITION will start a public inquiry in order to find out who is to
blame for this tremendous amount of taxpayers money wasted for the
promotion of the Games and to crack the slippery cartel    [the B.C.
Government and the Bid Committee]  who tried to lure the B.C. population
in to this insane adventure of hosting the Winter Olympics of 2010.”
