Friends:

Let's think about this one.

What is more dangerous, irresponsible and shows a more blatant disregard for
human life: 1) getting into a 2 ton mass of steel, glass and rubber, drunk
and out of control, vision and brain functions severely impaired, and risk
killing people, or 2) accepting a favourable price from a well known
neighbour, a parent of your kid's friends, whom you socialize with at your
kid's soccer games, to do some renovations and build a deck on the back of
your East Van house?

Which is worse: 1) to be charged with wrong doing and insist on your
innocence from the outset, then be dragged through the courts for years, all
the while being villified by the corporate media, and then in a court of law
be proven innocent, or 2) to be charged with a criminal offense that could
have resulted in killing innocent people, then admit at the outset that you
are guilty, agreeing that you did precisely what you were charged with, and
have then have the corporate media minimize your crime and attempt to soothe
the public into quickly forgetting the whole sorid affair?

Maybe Gordo can get his old job back as a real estate developer, at least
it's a step up from used car sales.

In Solidarity,

Jef Keighley
