Please take a few seconds off from your new year resolutions to email
good wishes to a victimised member of the National Union of Journalists
(UK)...

...Journalists at the Rotherham Advertiser are to step up their campaign
to save the job of their deputy father of chapel (union rep) Mark
Lindsay. Mark was one of the negotiators who helped secure rises of up
to 12 percent in the wake of a summer strike over low pay. But a couple
of weeks after the dispute ended Mark was selected for redundancy
without anyone else being considered for the chop. In a secret ballot
100 percent of those taking part have voted for a strike in support of
Mark. The union's national executive emergency committee has backed the
dispute. Please send Mark a seasonal message of support to
mailto:markalindsey at hotmail.com .
