RE: CONFLICT OF INTEREST IN CONCERT PROPERTIES AND THE OLYMPIC BID?
This morning I sent an email regarding Jack Poole's comments in the
August 2002.
NO GAMES 2010 COALITION again demands full disclosure of conflicts of
interest by members of the Bid Corp.
The Globe and Mail ran an article in August 2002 which reported that Jack
Poole, Chairman of Concert Properties that, "He (Poole) continues to chair
the company, now known as Concert Properties, and has said that if
Vancouver wins the 2010 Games, Concert will be prohibited from bidding on
any related construction work."
Recently, Mr. Podmore, the President and CEO of Concert Properties, stated
the following on a Now TV debate: "We have submitted a conflict of
interest letter to the Olympic Bid Corp....Of 29 venues we only have
expressed interest in the Atlethe's village to be built in False
Creek.....The process of how this will be determined will be by the City
of Vancouver."
The Athlete's Village is part of the Olympic bid and should be considered
"related construction work".
NO GAMES demands that the public be given access all the conflict of
interest letters submitted to the Bid Corp.
