 Dates for FTAA 2003 Ministerial In Miami Are Announced by USTR

 The next meeting of Free Trade Area of the Americas trade ministers is
 scheduled for Nov. 20-21, 2003, in Miami, the Office of the U.S. Trade
 Representative said Jan. 31.

 "I want to salute Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), his team, and the people
 of Florida for their efforts to host the best FTAA Ministerial ever,"
 U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick said in the press
release.
 Bush announced the dates of the ministerial in Coral Gables, Fla.,
USTR said.

 The proposal to host the next FTAA ministerial meeting in Miami was
 accepted by FTAA trade ministers at the last ministerial in Quito,
 Ecuador, in November.

 FTAA countries are to submit specific market access offers in
 agriculture, goods, services, investment, and government procurement by
 Feb. 15.

 The United States and Brazil are co-chairing the last leg of FTAA
 negotiations--scheduled to conclude by Jan. 1, 2005. Brazil will host
 the FTAA ministerial meeting in 2004.
