If anyone here already signed this, please forward this to the same people you
erroneously forwarded it to already. Let's stop this thing before it floats
around cyberspace like that bloody Save Afghan Women one did. These are hoaxes
and utterly false. They carry no weight, cannot possibly be used or even kept up
properly. Before you post any petitions to any lists, think about this: after
two seperate people pass this list on, it no longer has the same people on it.
All it will do is eventually kill off the email at the UN office.

Come to think of it, that could be useful if they don't have anything but
American foreign policy to offer us, dressed in Blue Helmets.

And if we check the "source"...
This is what is posted at UNIC's web site.

*** Note to Web Site Visitors:***
We have learned that there is a new petition circulating that
claims to have been started by our office -- we have not, nor
have we ever, initiated any petition.

We have been receiving emails as part of a petition --
generated by an unknown source -- urging the US and
international community to refrain from going to war. While
we were heartened by this effort, the United Nations
Secretariat (to which we are employed) is an implementing
organ for the actions and programs agreed upon and
supported by its 189 Member States.

Therefore, if individuals really want their voices heard by
these decision-makers, they should contact their
governments and mission to the UN to express concerns and
views. (We would discourage mass correspondence through
emails though!).

Permanent Missions to the United Nations for US Citizens:
US House of Representatives , US Senate and the
White House.

Thank you.
