(I was asked to run this one more time, with a "close date" of the 21st of June-
Mac)
DEAR G8-BOUND OF LOWER MAINLAND
-------------------------------
I live in a mill town about 20 Ks west of Nelson,
and I refuse to let Nelson have all the fun
of crashing you guys when you pass through.
Castlegar is conservative but not brutish,
unworldly but far from ignorant.
Currently people here are struggling to understand
the Liberal agenda in some larger context, and thus
would benefit from exposure to fellow citizens
who will be risking a great deal to publicise
exactly such connections. Yanks, at least of
this variety, are welcome too, of course.
I have promoted this idea in the past 10 days by
handing out and posting flyers. There have been
no takers, but this is typical: when there's
no such reality, why bother to get real?
I think if I were to present the imminent arrival
of 15-20 of you as a _fait accompli_, doors and
minds would open.
How about it? This doesn't require a tenth of
the daring called for at your destination.
Perhaps you can leave Vancouver a day early for
this mission within the mission, and thereby have
your Nelson stayover as well. Only get back to me
by the 21st, earlier if you can decide earlier,
so nothing is left hanging: g8hosting at yahoo.ca
Hoping to see you,
Mark Lewis
