Coordinator – Community Assistance Program



Smart Growth BC is looking for a dynamic Program Coordinator to coordinate, 
promote and grow
our Community Assistance Program (CAP). Through CAP, Smart Growth BC 
provides advice,
support and assistance to community groups to help increase their effective 
involvement in local
planning and land development processes, and to facilitate the building of 
partnerships between
community organizations, businesses and municipalities. The ideal candidate 
will be ready to hit
the ground running on August 26th and looks like this:



You are passionate about urban livability, and have a solid understanding of 
smart growth issues.
You are great at initiating solutions and activities, and can take an idea 
and run with it. You are
a fantastic organizer, and have an exceptional ability and experience to 
motivate and mobilize
people to get involved in important issues affecting their community. A 
strategic thinker, you are
great at developing strategy and seeding coalitions. You are a real team 
player, but can take a
leadership role and inspire others. You are equally comfortable giving a 
workshop to a community
group, making a presentation to a business association or to a municipal 
council, strategizing with
a neighbourhood association, and creating networks in a community with which 
you’ve never
worked before.  An excellent communicator, both oral and written, you have a 
relevant graduate
degree or the equivalent combination of academic and practical experience.



Smart Growth B.C. is a province-wide non-governmental organization working 
to assist community
associations, businesses, and municipalities create more livable communities 
by using land and
resources more sustainably.
