Mac, thanks for thanking me on my honesty, and I thank you for yours as
well.

I agree that wholeheartedly that we need to keep maintaning the principle
to provide anti-oppressive outlets within the movement, and to keep
racists out.  But, will we be content with just keeping racists on the
other side of the fence, or will we go further and challenge them to
rethink their values?   I'm not saying that Arthur is a racist, but yes,
he has had poor judgement on the content of the Radical at times.  I think
the Radical could well be a wonderful tool for the movement if it comes
back with some changes.  Its clear that Arthur will need to take action to
clear this issue up before people will want to have their words printed in
the Radical. All I'm saying is give the guy a chance.

On to other things ....

(Mac said) "Have you not notice that our city is very diverse yet our
"diverse" movement is white?" Well, I dont like the term 'white' because
people from alot of different countries, cultural and religious
backgrounds are naturally fair skinned. Skin colour is irrelevant. Your
statement has come up several times over the last several years, and its
something that I've been wondering about too.  Cultural differences may be
part of the reason, perhaps our immigrant brothers and sisters see the
same problems with the world that we do, but come from places where
speaking out brings deadly consequences. Perhaps language barriers are
part of the problem.  Nobody needs an invitation to protest US foreign
policy or Gord's cutbacks, but perhaps we havent figured out how to make
everyone feel welcome? I dont know the answer but it sure seems like
something we, as a movement, need to address.

"For Christ's sake, these people would get kicked out of the Canadian
Alliance for being too right wing."  This one cracked me right up ! Too
funny!

Anyway, I hope this clears up any assumptions anyone has made about my
views on the Radical.  I strive for fairness, and try my best to look at
issues and solutions from different sides, in order to be as fair as
possible.
