Hey everyone,
Can we keep in touch via email just so I stay in the loop while I'm gone
this week and can help from afar.
So now we have more things we can get working on. Like below is the info
from Remy for the t. interview... they ran into some troubles but nothing
out of the normal for us. However, I wasn't able to droplet camera 1 and
asked Boban but didn't hear back. So if someone wants to try again and
wants Boban help (or maybe ask someone else in the office) you'll have to
ask him before wednesday as he's out of town after that until next week.
We have the Indigogo to work on as well so if people can say what they've
done that would be helpful.
Other things are the broll that still can be placed, (the JV2 hard drive is
in a locker if you need it), setting up the other resistance interview
(Nico have you heard from Neil? I didn't get anything back from Neil or
Kike! Want to follow up and set up something for next week? if you
can!??!), Cera you said you wanted to work on 'research' still and I'm not
sure there's much left but Gwen did send me some info that could help our
stats etc (and I highlighted spots in the newest beatsheet for stats too)
since I didn't get a chance to go through Gwen's info I'll forward it to
you but let me know if and when you work on it so we don't double up
work,... are there other things?

Also if email's not working for you these days can you let me know and I'll
give you a call or text (that is if you read this one).
Sorry I took off but I'm here in spirit and on line to do what i can!
xo
ps please look at roz's message she drafted for us!

Hey Danielle!

Ok so Boban copied the footage this weekend. Some notes on the shoot (which
went 'ok' but we had some significant weaknesses):

- We were short on time. The interviewees only had 1.5 hours and I showed
up to the wrong location due to a confusing email chain (my fault to not
double check) so we lost time right of the hop.

After setting up the room and gear (and readjusting for falling sheet) we
ran out of time for b-roll.

In retrospect we needed a half day shoot to accomplish everything properly
but I didn't realize the time constraint until it was too late.

- there's just over an hour of footage. Hassan spoke really well, but
jumped into a long history that set up Solidarity City early in the
interview and may be tiring for you as you look for your '2' mins.

Nonetheless there should be a couple nuggets to harvest. He did a good job
of not simply going down a 'we won' path and contextualized struggle in a
way that I thought was honest and real.

Tings was generally les comfortable so there's way more 'ums' and her bit
was not as strong but hopefully there's a clip to support.

- Tech difficulties. There was little light in the room and not a lot of
options for remedies. Camera 1 will have to be lightened but I hope it
looks and sounds ok!

There's occasional background noise which was unavoidable.

Maddie didn't have an extra card and ran out of room to shoot. I didn't
bring my laptop (forgot that I needed it for her) and so some of het
footage was dumped on a PC but then I couldn't recover it in time because
of incompatible hard drives (I don't have a device that connects to PC).

This means that '2 camera' sync is incomplete at a couple places. I also
ran out of room at one point when Tings was talking but it was caught on
camera 2.

- follow up: I didn't get a chance to ask about what 'title' they want on
screen or about other archives to access as b roll. S someone from tour
team will have to do it.

= the conclusion is that your work won't be smooth to build a new scene,
but I hope that with some elbow grease you can pull it off.

Good luck and see you on the weekend xoxox
